Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to Universal Dating. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Universal Dating platform, including our website and mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

The Service is operated by Vuurpijl Beheer B.V., registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number KVK 34108141, VAT number NL807542313B01, located at Lagedijk 11A, 2064 KV Spaarndam, Netherlands.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Universal Dating.
• You must be legally able to enter into a binding contract.
• You must not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.
• You must not have been previously banned from the platform.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your profile information up to date.
• Not create more than one account.
• Not share your account or transfer it to another person.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Acceptable use

When using Universal Dating, you agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other users.
• Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, violent, or sexually explicit.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
• Use the platform for commercial purposes, advertising, or solicitation.
• Send spam or unsolicited messages.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our systems.
• Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers on the platform.
• Violate the intellectual property rights of others.
• Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the Service.

5. Content

You retain ownership of the content you post on Universal Dating. By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. You are solely responsible for the content you post and must ensure it complies with these Terms and our Community Guidelines.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, and to suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate our policies.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Universal Dating offers both free and paid features. If you purchase a subscription or credits:

• Prices are displayed in your local currency where possible and include applicable taxes.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
• Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws, including the EU right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off period for new subscriptions).
• We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.

7. Safety and reporting

We are committed to providing a safe environment. If you encounter behaviour that violates these Terms or makes you feel unsafe, please report it immediately through the in-app reporting feature or by emailing info@universal-dating.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
• You will find a match or achieve any particular outcome.
• Other users’ profiles or representations are accurate.

You use the Service at your own risk. We encourage you to exercise caution and follow our safety guidelines when interacting with others.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vuurpijl Beheer B.V. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, upon reasonable notice where possible. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be submitted to the competent courts in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. If you are a consumer in the EU, you retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
